Your Wi-Fi name and password are printed on a sticker on your Brightspeed router. It takes about a minute — here's how.
Look on the back or the bottom of your Brightspeed router — the box the installer hooked up, not the small fiber box on the wall. Your Wi-Fi name is next to SSID (sometimes it says Network Name). Your password is right under it, next to WPA Key or Key.
Heads up: Skip anything that says Admin or Login. That's for the router's settings, not for Wi-Fi.
iPhone: open Settings and tap Wi-Fi. Android: open Settings, tap Network & internet (or Connections), then Wi-Fi. Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on, then tap your Wi-Fi name in the list.
Type it exactly like it is on the sticker. Capital letters matter.
Heads up: There's no letter O in the password. Anything that looks round is the number zero (0). This one trips up almost everybody.
Tap Join (or Connect). When you see a check mark or "Connected" under your Wi-Fi name, you're good to go.
TVs, laptops, tablets, game consoles: pick the same Wi-Fi name and type the same password. For a TV or game console right next to the router, an Ethernet cable works even better.
Type it again, slowly: zeros, not the letter O, and capital letters only where the sticker has them. If you or someone at home changed the Wi-Fi password, the sticker won't work anymore — you can look up the current one in the Brightspeed WiFi app.
See your password in the appGet closer to the router and check its light. Solid green means it's working. If the light is off or red, restart the router: unplug it, wait about 10 seconds, plug it back in and give it a few minutes.
