Set up the Brightspeed WiFi app
The free Brightspeed WiFi app shows your Wi-Fi password, lets you change it, and can restart your router. It's not the "Brightspeed" app for your bill — you want the one called Brightspeed WiFi.

The free Brightspeed WiFi app shows your Wi-Fi password, lets you change it, and can restart your router. It's not the "Brightspeed" app for your bill — you want the one called Brightspeed WiFi.
Get Brightspeed WiFi from the App Store on an iPhone or Google Play on Android. It's free.
Open the app and tap Sign Up. Enter your email, make up a password for the app (not your Wi-Fi password), and add your name. Leave Location on United States, check the box to agree to the terms and tap Continue.
Heads up: Had Brightspeed before? Use a different email than last time — see the note up top.
When the app asks to use your camera, tap Allow. It needs the camera to scan the code on your router.
Pick the option to set up a new router. Depending on your version of the app, it may say Set up a new router or Set up new connection.
The camera opens. Point it at the QR code on the sticker on the back of your router — the same sticker with your Wi-Fi name. Hold still for a second and it scans on its own.
Heads up: Won't scan? Turn on a light and wipe your camera lens. You can also tap Manually Enter System Details and type the numbers from the sticker.
Next you'll see a few screens of tips, like where to put your router. There's nothing to tap here — just swipe left to flip through them.
When the app asks about the light on your router: if it's solid green, tap OK (or Next). The installer already plugged everything in, so it should be green.
Heads up: Not green? Blinking amber means it's still starting up, so wait a few minutes. Still not green? Unplug the router, wait 10 seconds and plug it back in.
Some setups show a Set Up Wi-Fi screen. Easiest move: type the Wi-Fi name and password from your router's sticker and tap Done. That way everything that's already connected stays connected.
You'll land on the home screen. From here you can run a speed test, restart your router and see who's online.
At the bottom of the screen, tap Network.
Under Wi-Fi Networks, tap your Wi-Fi name — the same name that's on your router's sticker. You'll see your Wi-Fi info and an Edit button.
Tap Edit, and there are your Wi-Fi name and password. Tap the eye icon to show the password.
Type a new name or password and tap Save. Give it a minute to update.
Heads up: Changed the password? Your phones, TVs and everything else will drop off Wi-Fi. Reconnect each one with the new password, and write it down somewhere — the sticker won't match anymore.
This usually means the app remembers an old account — you had Brightspeed before, or your router got swapped. Delete the app, install it again and sign up with a different email address. Still stuck? Call Brightspeed support at 833-692-7773.
Blinking amber: it's starting up, give it a few minutes. Slow blinking red: no internet — make sure the cable from the fiber box to the router is clicked in, then restart the router. Still red after that? Call Brightspeed support at 833-692-7773.
